Nairn - PAR 4 / 214-243-287-310
The 15th hole at Nairn is another one of the great Northern Scotland gems. While bypassed because of location and transportation for the more prestigious tournaments, Nairn hosted the 1999 Walker Cup matches and has been acknowledged as one of the top Scottish links regardless of location.
This great par four showcases one of the great Scottish design insights, a drivable par four. At just 310 yards from the back tees, and 243 yards from the forward tees, the hole mightily tempts many a golfer to think they can reach the green with their tee shot, but then greatly penalizes them if they come up short. This fairway is a series of rolling pitches up and down, which can send the ball careening in any direction if they miss the multi-level green.
