Carnoustie - PAR 4 - 306-365-390-421

Carnoustie is one of the toughest, meanest, nastiest and most demanding courses in all of Scotland. It has hosted several Open Championships since 1931 with winners such as Amour, Hogan and Scottish winner Paul Lawrie. It was Lawrie who captured the 1999 Open when Frenchman Jean Van de Velde wasted a three-shot lead on the final hole.

This par four second hole is a tribute to the fifth hole at Carnoustie, one of the best of the outward nine of this seaside links. Named Brae by the course locals, it presents a player with a variety of options to attack the hole, which measures 421 yards from back tees. All but the longest hitters must layup in front of a burn, which runs across the fairway midway from the green. The green is long and slightly elevated with plenty of brae, heather and gorse all along the left side.
